Imagine for a moment that it’s Monday. The alarm clock rings at six. It’s like a thunderclap cutting through the haze of yesterday’s white whine and three hours worth of Friend’s rerun.
So you get up… and accidentally bang your knee on the bedpost. Dark murderous thoughts fire across your neurons as you amble to the bathroom where you stub your toe.
Bam. Suddenly everything and everyone is public enemy number one.
You snarl at the wife handing you eggs.
You froth at Junior offering you coffee.
And you kick the fat hairy walking sofa licking your hand.
The rest of the day obviously spiralled for the worst- in fact you almost get fired for biting off the boss’ head.
That’s the Law of Attraction working against you. What you think and feel attracts the same. The Law of Attraction is simply the manifestation of your mind in the real world.
Let’s do a little experiment.
Hold out your arms and ask a friend to push it down as you think of something great- like when you snagged a promotion or enjoyed a night of steamy sex. He’d have difficulty pushing.
Now repeat the same while thinking about debts, bills, war or your in-laws.
He should push it down very easily. What gives?
Your mind transforms your body. Simple as that. What you think and feel empowers or weakens you.
Do you want to go around the world lugging a bunch of energy-sapping emotions? Or do you want to dominate your environment?
Here are five amazing tips I’ve implemented to explode the power of attraction in my life:
1) Always ask yourself “What Great Things Can I accomplish today” upon getting up. This sets the tone of your day and primes you attract positive opportunities.
2) Always be grateful for the things you took for granted. Like simply that you’re breathing. Say “Thank you, Im still breathing! Im luckier than that bloke under the tombstone.” Gratitude naturally and easily conditions you for affuence and attracts more empowered men and women into your life.
3) Something bad happen? Shrug it off and flick it from your jacket like lint. This action rapidly kicks any negative thoughts that may attract bad things into your day.
4) Hang out only with positive people. Like attracts like. Remember that.
5) And finally… treat people the way the expect to be treated. They will reciprocate and hold you in high regard. Build your social network on the right foot and expect to fly to the top of your aspirations. Attract the right people, support them and they will attract for you the right conditions for success!

Love and Law, Love through Law
By Tina Montalto
As Religious Scientists or followers of the Science of Mind principles, we often hear the teaching described as Love through Law.
We often focus on and understand more fully the "Law" part. We can easily describe Law as the impersonal, mechanical and mathematically-precise force in the Universe that is the "doer" in the Creative Process. It is Universal Subjectivity. It is the Creative Medium into which we plant our thought-kernels. When we do a Spiritual Mind Treatment (http://www.consciouskernels.com/sevenstep.html), we are working with the Law. We talk about the Law of Cause and Effect, we talk about the Law of Correspondence, we talk about the Law of Attraction.
But, I think as a whole, we tend to give the Love part of Love and Law a backseat. It is harder to wrap our intellectual minds around something more ethereal. We can intellectually understand Law because its work is observable and measureable. Love? Harder to pin down.
Love has been defined by Ernest Holmes as "the self-givingness of the Spirit through the desire of Life to express Itself in terms of creation." Huh?
How about this definition: Love is the unconditional givingingness of Spirit to Itself through the act of creation. This is a little easier to understand. We all know what unconditional is. We know what giving is. Spirit can only give to Itself because that is all there is. We, by the way, are part of "Itself". And we all know what creation is.
So Love is Spirit giving Itself (which is All Good and Only Good) to Itself by creating more of Itself without any conditions or restrictions. OK. So how do we give Love equal time as we go about our Spiritual Practice and Spiritual Growth?
I think this is where a little quiet contemplation may be useful. Whereas a Spiritual Mind Treatment is done with a specific purpose in mind and with using the Law (which has been freely given to us by Spirit), perhaps a simple practice of thinking about God's Quality of Love without any specific purpose may help us connect more fully with Spirit.
What I am suggesting you do is get in touch with Universal Love. Sometimes I sit in a quiet place, maybe a little music playing in the background, and I try to just feel the Presence of God. Like a big warm embracing hug enveloping me. A calm and peace and feeling of well-being surrounding me and existing within me. Feeling like I am the Beloved in whom God is well-pleased. Start with yourself. And then, when you are ready, expand that embracing hug to every person on the planet, to every living thing in the Universe. Spiritual Love is giving goodwill to all. See Spirit in yourself and everyone. That is practicing the Presence.
We are Scientists, yes. But I think everyone would benefit if we all incorporate into our Spiritual Practice a little more Love with our Law.

The Rex Files: Your Dog and the Law
By Emma Snow
Even insurance companies are putting in their two cents worth when it comes to our furry family members. While it’s not always a top concern for many dog owners, it’s definitely in your best interest to be aware of the legal implications of owning a pet. Considering that animal laws are not usually a result of state or federal battles (contrary to that portrayed in Legally Blonde 2), but rather the consequence of neighborhood squabbles turned complaints to local governments, it’s the duty of a pet owner to be aware of possible nuisance factors and train your dog to be a good canine citizen, to prevent confrontation or the threat of litigation.
To start, you should become acquainted with the state and county laws as well as the pet-related ordinances in your city. These vary from location to location, and can often be found on the internet. These rules encompass such things as licensing and tagging your pet, leash laws, limits, vaccination requirements, breeding restrictions, and areas where no dogs may be allowed. While most governments have found it unconstitutional to ban specific breeds, you may want to check your home owner’s insurance policy in case they charge a fine for more “aggressive” breeds such as pit bulls and rottweilers.
Keep in mind that just because there’s not a law against something, it doesn’t mean Rover couldn’t get in trouble doing it. Good neighbor laws constitute practices that keep canines on the friendly side of the law. Gone are the days when you could let the dog out unsupervised to do its thing. Better to play it safe. After all, it is up to you to prove that you are a responsible owner, and that your dog is an asset to the neighborhood. Once you’ve given your neighbors cause to believe otherwise you may quickly find out how miserable your neighbors can make your life.
First and foremost, know your dog. Know what agitates him, watch for aggressive behavior and NEVER encourage it by playing combative games. (The majority of dog bite victims are family members. Never “mean up” your dog to turn it into a watch dog!) On the contrary, properly socialize your dog, and let neighbors, especially their children, know what your dog will and will not tolerate. If your dog does bite—or even snap—talk to your vet right away. Dog bites are the most prevalent and expensive legal problem; take this warning seriously and keep your dog’s nose out of the courtroom!
The second most publicized pet problem has to do with irresponsible dog breeders. I’m talking about those owners who start with a female dog, and for one reason or another they neglect having her spayed. Within months Ginger is pregnant. Litter after litter, puppies are born, and given away, left to roam the neighborhood, or dumped. Unless you are a professional breeder with champion-quality purebreds, there is no good reason to breed your pet. Don’t fall prey to the notion that Pookie needs a litter to feel fulfilled, or that Shasta will be a wimp if he is neutered. Above all, forget the idea that the kids will learn the miracle of life if their pet has a litter. Good, responsible pet owners always sterilize their animals.
To further foster positive pet attitudes in your neighborhood, follow these general guidelines: never leave your pet outside unattended. Dogs left outside may bark, dig their way out of the yard, or menace passer-bys. Keep Baron confined when he’s not on a leash. Always clean up after your pet, even in your own yard. A lawn dotted with dog feces raises eyebrows of even the most patient neighbor. Finally, attend obedience training for at least two sessions to teach Rex some manners. You may consider certifying Winnie with the Canine Good Citizen test when she is past six months old.
Being aware and proactive about the legal side of dog ownership pays off for everyone in the end: dogs, their owners, law-makers, as well as the general public. Remember, it is your responsibility to show that dog ownership is respectable and responsible.
