Law Of Attraction: Science Behind The Belief
the law of attraction is more than just thinking positively and hoping for the best. In fact there is concrete science behind your innate ability to attract everything you desire. This article will explain the scientific nuts and bolts behind the law of attraction.
If you're like many people you love the idea of being able to use the law of attraction to manifest the things you want in life. But you may have a problem letting go and fully believing this will work for you because it's contrary to what the mainstream education and media systems call reality.
For the next couple of minutes forget about what the average person considers realistic. After all, how many "average" people do you know who are really happy with their lives? The fact is most people are not scientists, and therefore it's not fair to assume the status quo reality has anything to do with scientific knowledge.
It's sad but true: Most people are not comfortable believing they can really have everything they want in life. They'd rather play it safe and stick with the familiar ground of disappointment and struggle.
The law of attraction is real. It's every bit as real as gravity. In fact gravity is one example of the concept of attraction in action.
Bodies in our solar system maintain their orbits because the magnetic pull of the sun. You and I are able to remain rooted on the earth because we are attracted to it by gravitational forces.
If you boil these forces and laws down you'll see they are not unlike the laws behind attraction and manifestation. This takes a bit of expansive and even abstract thinking, but it's quite logical if you take the time to ponder it.
Now let's have a look at a few specific scientific theories/studies that support the existence of the law of attraction.
First of all you should be aware of the belief many scientists hold that time is not linear as we perceive it. In other words, many theories exist that time does not move from point A to point B the way we experience it; in fact time does not really exist at all as a natural law.
Time is a construct. It's a phenomenon we as humans agree on as a way of managing our lives and the world around us. The truth is everything that could happen is happening right now, and our conscious minds identify and separate these events into different moments and possibilities.
In simpler terms, endless possibilities are actually taking place right now in an unlimited number of dimensions, or universes. And the human mind is consciously aware of only one of these realities at a time, thus resulting in the illusion of time progressing moment to moment.
Hugh Everett was among the first researchers to popularize this idea through the Relative State Formulation. Later Bryce Seligman DeWitt renamed this formulation the Many-Worlds-Theory.
Some people also call this belief in infinite dimensions or realities the Multiple Worlds Theory. Physicist John Wheeler, among many others, suggests that each of us chooses the reality or universe to observe from moment to moment, thereby creating our own distinct reality.
Think about this for a moment. Right now, as you read this article, you are observing/occupying a specific "timeline" or dimension; you have a job, a home, friends, hobbies, etc. But there could also exist simultaneously another dimension or reality where you are a multi-millionaire, or one where you have your ideal body, or one where you live happily with your dream mate.
One way to think of the law of attraction is to consider it the act of choosing which reality to observe. By way of focused intention you attract to you the exact reality you prefer to inhabit.
Another great theory to help explain the law of attraction is the Wheeler-Feynman Absorber Theory, which was originally designed to explain the actions of charged particles, such as photons. Consider this model:
You have a desire, thus emitting specific particles. This makes sense as everything in the universe is made up of energetic particles, including thought waves.
As the particles of your thought/desire leave the source (you), they send an offer wave forward in time to the detectors, or possibilities. When this offer wave, made up of your intentions, reaches the target detector, or possibility, the detector responds with an echo wave.
These two waves (offer and echo) can interact in a number of ways. They can cancel one another out, build on one another, or intersect in other ways within an interference pattern.
This is all taken from a model using particles and waves. But since your thoughts are measurable energy, i.e. particles and/or waves depending on the moment of observation, the theory is totally applicable to you intending or attracting one of many possibilities to yourself by sending an offer wave out to multiple detectors or realities.
You are essentially vibrating a specific intention, or offer wave, and then choosing which detector, or result/reality, to observe through your thoughts and actions.
So if you've sent an offer wave in the form of an intention to create more money, and your thoughts and actions are focused on creating this reality, you will attract the new result you want. Conversely if you've sent the offer wave of creating more money but your thoughts and actions are fretting your current lack and complaining about what you don't have you'll end up canceling out your initial intention.
This article really just scratches the surface of the science behind the law of attraction. But as you can see here the dynamics at play are very real.
And in most cases the reasons for not believing in your ability to attract a chosen reality are pretty far from scientific. Let's face it: just saying "that's not possible" really doesn't measure up to the evidence that supports the law of attraction.

Law of Attraction - How to Easily Raise Your Manifesting Vibration
By Daniel Hinds
A high vibration increases your manifesting ability. If you think of vibration as the voltage on a battery just imagine that the higher the voltage the more power the battery has to emit power. The same is true of your own state when you are able to hold a higher voltage thought and feeling. You are better able to hold a high vibration by watching, then raising your emotions. Since your thoughts always precede your emotions its necessary to be mindful first of the quality of thoughts you are entertaining before they become negative feelings.
This is not to say that you should drive yourself crazy for every negative thought that you have. However its necessary for your own spiritual growth that you learn to deliberately lift your thoughts when you do find them sinking into doom and gloom.
One of the first steps you can take is to place your elf through a series of questions. Not only will you be able to control your own inner nature you will find that your ability to manifest will increase.
Here are a few questions you want to ask yourself when you find your thoughts sinking:Am I the only person going though this problem? How have others handled this problem? When I do overcome this problem what will it feel like? What steps can I take right now to make this problem easier?
These questions will surely cause your mind to switch from what you don't want to what is possible. Manifesting is a skill of the mind which requires training. The more you train the mind to find higher thoughts and emotions the higher your vibration and the easier it becomes to attract what you desire.Would you like to learn 2 powerful Manifesting Techniques to become more magnetic to your desires? http://www.cosmic-wealth.com Sign up and receive Free Manifesting Software with Magic Money Newsletter

Why You Should Focus on the Universal Law of Cause and Effect
By Daniel Hinds
While the law of attraction is a valuable law to learn its not the only universal law. The law of cause and effect is a powerful law to study. It's the law of the thinking aware mind. I would rather focus my attention on the law of cause and effect.
When you are aware of the cause of a situation you can alter the cause to gain a new effect. However when all of your attention is on the effect you are stuck.
What's happening in your life now that you don't like?
Make a list of all the things which make you feel unhappy and stuck. After you have done this begin to take your mind back as if you are tracking a map of events and begin to examine what situations and action caused it to happen. When you do not know the cause you can never alter the outcome which is the effect.
Stop Fighting the Effect
You fight the effect when you focus on the end results. If you are ill discover what the cause of the illness is before you take chemicals that simply plaster the effect. What could be the cause of that illness? When you find it tackle it by altering the cause. The same is true of money. When you know what causes poverty you can change it at the root. The law of cause and effect puts you in charge of your actions as well as your view of the world. You are not victim but conscious creator. However by focusing on the effect you deny your right to create more powerful.
You become like a child who throws the cookie jar down then runs under the table and pretends that he does not know what has happened.Would you like to learn 2 powerful Manifesting Techniques to become more magnetic to your desires? http://www.cosmic-wealth.com Sign up and receive Free Manifesting Software with Magic Money Newsletter

Yoga in Practice - The Law of Attraction
By Paul Jerard
How does Yoga relate to the "Law of Attraction?" We often hear about the universal concept of attraction, but how many of us are aware of it as it happens throughout the day? Let's take a closer look at our Yoga practice and how we influence the world around us with our thoughts.
Most people feel that actions and words are all that counts. If they think negative thoughts, they assume there will be no repercussions. Yet, negative thoughts create pessimism and influence the outcome of daily situations, for the worst.
If we worry about something long enough, we can influence the end result for the worst. The exact opposite can be said for positive thoughts. Sometimes, the eternal optimist is oblivious of anything, but a good outcome. We must control what we think at all times. Below are a few methods, which can change your life for the best.
Start your morning with a smile, meditate, and give thanks for the blessing of each day. Appreciate the sounds of your family, a bird's song, and the steady noise of daily life. Never be the person who complains about the weather. This is an imperfect world, but there is still so much to appreciate.
Create a positive affirmation of your own. This is similar to mantra, but much different. If you feel stressed out, you should think, "I look for and find solutions within stressful situations." This may seem very simplistic and a bit silly to some.
Yet, how many people react to stressful situations with headaches, rapid heartbeat, muscle tension, chest pain, backaches, insomnia, and more ailments? When stress makes you ill, it is unlikely that you will find solutions during a crisis.
Mantra is also valuable, because you block the external signals of stress, with internal sounds of peace. However, if you are in a social environment, a self-created positive affirmation, in your native language, may help you to create a solution to a cycle of stress.
Almost every form of Yoga practices mantra and positive affirmation. If you practice these Yogic methods regularly, you can quell pessimism from within. This is only half of the solution. The other half is to permanently instill positive energy within your mind.
In your free time, meditate on positive feelings. Get to know which images, in your mind, create happiness. It could be God, a spiritual center, a loved one, a pet, your favorite vacation spot, or a beloved teacher.
Regardless of what makes you happy, learn to envision it at any time, and summon into action, all the happiness that comes with it. Kindness and happiness is how a Yoga practitioner can master the power of attraction.

Debunking Six Law of Attraction Myths
By Victoria Nelson
1. The Law of Attraction is based on Spiritual Beliefs and only suited to people from a Spiritual background.
Many people who learn to utilise the Law of Attraction in their lives come from a spiritual background and invoke the Universe, God, Angels or other beings. However, holding spiritual or religious beliefs is by no means a prerequisite to utilising the Law of Attraction to make your dreams a reality. I believe that the Creation Process should be as universally appealing as possible, so that everybody can tap into the flow of creative power. This creative power is hard-wired in all human beings and we need to be tapped on the shoulder and reminded that we have it. Spiritual people may view this as a spiritual process, where the deity of their choice is guiding them. A logical person may view this as a psychological process, whereby they learn to harness the power of their sub-conscious via positive affirmation and visualisation. The scientist may view this as a scientific process whereby we attract positive or negative energy like a magnet. As long as you have faith in the process, it doesn't matter where your background lies, you will all get the same great results!
2. You must consume many different books, CDs and DVDs to learn the Creation Process.
There is an awful lot of material available about the Law of Attraction, every new publication promising to reveal something further and deeper about the process. However, this only serves to make people confused about which is the most effective or the 'right' method. In turn this confusion leads to stress and panic which attracts more confusion, stress and panic in other areas of their lives. What we have identified is that there are easily applied core principles. When this process is followed, the only possible outcome is manifestation of your vision!
3. You need to hold yourself in a place of permanent joy for the Law of Attraction to work in your favour.
Joy is an absolutely blissful state of being, but even people who have undertaken a lot of self improvement work will struggle to maintain this state constantly. The myth that one needs to stay in a place of joy to manifest their visions into reality can be a huge stumbling block for some. It is obvious why - you create your goal and is then are told that you need to hold your emotions in a place of permanent joy. Then because you cannot, you start to feel inadequate, stressed and in a state of panic once again. Then before you know it, you have totally forgotten about the Law of Attraction, or written it off as a failed experiment. It is true that the higher your emotional vibrations are, the faster your goals will manifest, but sometimes, with the pressures of the world around us, we are going to feel less than joyous no matter how many affirmations you repeat. During the more difficult times, if you can continue to hold yourself in alignment with your vision and stay in a place of positivity then you are still doing everything you need to do in order to make it a reality. If there are times when you cannot do this, it is better just to be aware of your feelings and do not resist them, as what you resist persists. Just make sure that you pro-actively do things that bring you happiness in order to start bringing your mood back upwards towards positivity and joy.
4. You need to learn to meditate for the process to be effective.
Meditation can be an extremely beneficial component in the Creation Process, as it allows you not only to take relaxation time for yourself but also to quiet your thoughts to make way for your inner guidance to be heard. Many Law of Attraction teachers recommend to set aside at least 15 minutes per day to concentrate on meditation and visualisation, but what if you find it too challenging? Personally, I find sticking to regular meditation a real challenge - I am a high energy, activity focussed person and normally when I sit down and bring myself into a state of deep relaxation, I normally fall asleep! At first this was of concern to me, but over time I realised that my body, mind and spirit will tell me what they need, so I need not put any pressure on myself. Instead - when I get the urge to meditate, I do so, and normally enjoy it immensely. Otherwise I like to make time for myself in other ways, like a warm bath, curling up with a good book or taking a walk outdoors. It is vital that you take relaxation time for yourself, as it refreshes you and lifts your mood (pointing you firmly in the right direction for manifestation of your goals) - but you must do activities which bring you joy, not what others stipulate. Enjoy!
5. To receive guidance from the Universe, you need to cleanse yourself by giving up coffee, cigarettes, alcohol, sugar or become a vegetarian.
Well if this were the case then we wouldn't have even heard of the Law of Attraction, let alone be teachers of it! Seriously though, there is a school of thought that says that to receive guidance from the Universe and make the Law of Attraction work, you must cleanse yourself internally with strict detoxification. I agree wholeheartedly that a a healthy person is a happy person, and that we should treat our bodies with the utmost respect, but that deprivation will only lower our mood, not uplift it. If eating meat, having a morning coffee or a glass of wine with dinner bring you happiness, then rest assured that your consumption of these things will not affect the Creation Process. Some people feel better when they give up coffee or alcohol, if this is you then go ahead! But if you are not suffering ill effects (and studies show that small amounts of alcohol and caffeine can be beneficial to mental and physical well being) then please enjoy life! A vital part of the Creation Process is keeping your emotions as high and your resistance as low as possible, so enjoy the things that make you happy -guilt free!
6. Using the Law of Attraction in my life means that I will lose control.
We Law of Attraction teachers tell you to clarify your desires and then let go and hand them over to the Universe. Anything in your life which is contradictory to your desires (for example being in debt when you wish to create abundance), we teach you to give as little worry and attention to as possible. But what if handing over to the Law of Attraction makes us feel like were are handing over control of our lives? Whenever we make life changes (and some of the work that we do with eliminating limiting beliefs can mean huge attitude shifts for our clients), the old will always try to reassert itself before it disappears forever. You can spot an experienced Law of Attraction practitioner by their serene detachment from their desires. It isn't because they don't care, but because they trust that the Universe will deliver. It always does. Walk with faith and trust (even if you have to continually ask for more faith at first) and this sense of losing control will soon pass.
In conclusion, if you take one thing from reading this article it is DO WHAT FEELS GOOD FOR YOU! There is a lot of information available on the subject of the Law of Attraction - some of it will resonate with you and some of it will not. The trick is to practice what makes you joyful and to disregard what tips you into the negative emotional spectrum, since the Universe can deliver far more easily to someone who is open and happy than to someone who is pressured and anxious.Vicky Nelson is a founding director of Mindfuel. Are You in Compliance? California's New Sexual Harassment Law AB1825
By Rhonda Goetz
I was speaking recently at a business network meeting when a business owner asked whether she needed to be concerned with California's new Sexual Harassment law, AB1825. This business owner runs her company with 18 full-time, 20 part-time employees, 8 temp workers, and 5 sales subcontractors who are located in several states.
Requirement: 50 + employees
On the surface it appears that she does not meet the 50+ employee requirement that determines whether she must train her supervisors. Taking a closer look at the law, however, reveals that temporary service workers and independent contractors, regardless of where they are located are included in the total count of employees.
Requirement: Training must encompass all aspects of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation.
The training must address retaliation and: sex, race/color, religion, age, and national origin harassment and discrimination. Typically previous trainings did not include these areas.
Another business owner wanted to know whether or not they could continue to train in the same manner as the previous year's training.
Requirement: A system in place to track and document employee participation and compliance
The answer is maybe yes, maybe no. If the training included all forms of harassment and discrimination AND tracked employee participation throughout the training (not just through sign in/out sheets) AND assessed their understanding of the material AND you can provide proof, then yes, continue to train as in previous years.
A business owner, one on a very tight budget, commented "it is good that I only have to train 5 supervisors, because I can't afford to train more."
Requirement: Businesses must provide a harassment-free workplace for everyone
With this in mind, how harassment-free will the workplace be if this owner only trains the supervisors? . And if a claim is made by the employee, will the money saved by training only supervisors, be enough to pay for attorneys, lost production time, and/or punitive damages? Probably not.
Conclusion:
Regardless of the number of employees, location of employees, or previous training, employers need to both protect their company from harassment and discrimination claims and comply with the law. Ensure that your company is protected by training all employees in harassment and discrimination prevention.

Elder Law - Nursing Home Abuse
By George Dickerman
First, let's recognize that nursing homes are needed in our society, and the functions they serve are vitally important to the health and caring of our aged population.
Their job is not easy. Even the best nursing homes, those with the cleanest rooms and most committed staff, have problems. Anyone who has visited a nursing home will eventually feel a sense of doom, as many patients will die, mostly because of natural causes associated with old age. Most nursing assistants usually leave the facility within one year because the type of work they do is both physically and psychologically draining.
There are so many federal and state laws and regulations governing nursing homes that it is nearly impossible for them to operate without committing some violations. Minor violations are not a reason to sue a nursing home. It is only when the violation causes actual harm to a patient, should a lawsuit be considered. A lawsuit should be focused on forcing the nursing home to both correct the problem for the protection of other patients and to compensate the victim for the injuries s/he suffered.
Nursing home abuse most often occurs because of a shortage of staff or negligence at the hands of an incompetent nursing assistant. When one staff member is assigned to twenty patients, then the needs of each patient cannot be met. There are simply too many tasks to perform and not enough workers. This condition is not the fault of the nursing assistants; rather, it is the fault of the facility's owner who is placing corporate profit before patient care.
When litigating a case of elder abuse or neglect, the attorney will gather all medical records from the nursing home and then review each document with a fine tooth comb to discover any clue that shows any acts of negligence that contributed to the injury.
Negligence often occurs because of an unqualified nursing assistant. Sometime it's just plain laziness.
In one case, an elderly patient's leg had been broken and was only discovered three days later when a family member came to visit and saw the grossly disjointed leg.
A record review included the daily progress notes prepared by the nursing assistant assigned to the patient. Unbelievably, on the day that the patient's broken leg was discovered, and while she was in the hospital undergoing surgery to repair the leg, the nursing home assistant wrote that the patient was in her nursing home bed, eating well and in no discomfort!
These are the types of cases that warrant litigation against a nursing home for elder abuse or neglect. In California, the law provides substantial remedies for victims. When it can be shown by clear and convincing evidence that the nursing home acted with fraud, malice, oppression or recklessness, then punitive damages can be included in a jury verdict.
Minor violations can be dealt with by contacting a long term care ombudsman or other government agency that oversees complaints against a nursing home. More serious violations should be reviewed by an elder law attorney who can represent the patient and seek appropriate remedies to compensate the client and protect other patients.George F. Will You Be Supporting Your Parents, In-Laws and Your Own Children at the Same Time?
By Bill Young
It is estimated by the Human Resources Administration that by 2010, 1/2 of the workforce will be caring for dependent elders in addition to their own, immediate families!
Is that you? How are you going to take on these additional responsibilities when you can barely hold your own now, financially?
Where will all the money come from to pay:
• 2 mortgages? • Huge medical bills? • Expensive prescription drugs for conditions that will not go away? • Alterations to your house or theirs? • Household help so you can continue to work? • Extra food?
Will you have to choose between funding college for your kids, your own retirement or support for your parents and/or in-laws? Will you have no choice but to deny your own parents help and care?
Not happy thoughts, I agree, but for many people, those will be the realities...
Unless you get ahead of the curve and start making preparations now on how to keep this all too likely situation from becoming a nightmare, you may be sorry.
While there are too many possible solutions to these problems to cover in this article, we will take a look at a couple of the most effective ones; starting a home based business and eliminating all debts, including mortgages in 5-10 years, even if your 30 year mortgage is brand new!
Understand that you will need more money, a lot more money to survive, let alone prosper under these dire circumstances.
You and your parents/in-laws should also get rid of as much debt as you possibly can between now and then, especially credit card debt and mortgages.
As for the first point, more income, your first thought is probably to get another job. However, in many cases, the income from a 2nd job is usually so chewed up by taxes and expenses such as transportation and food that are directly attributable to the 2nd job, that you are netting peanuts.
A little used but perfectly legal and effective option is to start a home based business, writing off losses from the early years against your salary on your current job or self employment. This strategy can unleash hundreds of extra dollars in cash every month.
As your business grows, its income will supplement your job income and in time could actually replace it. You will probably need every additional penny to meet your additional responsibilities.
As far as rapidly getting rid of debt, there are many strategies. They vary from the simple; pay a fixed amount on your credit card bills each month, even if it is this month's Minimum Payment!
That strategy alone will mean your current balances will be paid off 15 to 20 times faster than following the bank's recommended minimum payment each month.
There are other, more aggressive strategies that can pay off all your cards, bank and personal loans in 1-2 years, but again, they are beyond the scope of this article.
When you think of paying off your 30 year mortgage in half the time, you are probably thinking of those Bi-Weekly mortgage programs or the newer, Money Merge plans.
Both work, but have serious draw backs. There are few banks that will allow the bi-weekly payments because their computers are not programmed to handle them or the current mortgage holder will not allow them.
The new, Money-Merge programs out of Australia, are hampered by reliance on the home owner having equity in the home and the availability of HELOCS, Home Equity Lines Of Credit, both of which are becoming scarcer as you read this. Plus, I have an aversion to paying off debt with more debt.
There is a new kid on the block, the "Amortization Accelerator," (Amac) which we developed. It turns the typical bank amortization schedule on its head and allows the mortgage to be paid off in half the scheduled time.
Check with your CPA or accountant for more information, as we are introducing this new system rapidly across the country.
Obviously, we have only scratched the surface of this huge, emotional and financial problem. However, the earlier you begin to prepare, the better you will be able to deal with it in your life.Copyright 2008 Bill Young.

Learn How to Use Law of Attraction Principles in Your Every Day Life
By Marilyn Bailey
Learning how to use law of attraction principles in every moment of your life can seem like a difficult task at first - in fact it can be downright overwhelming to try using these strategies in your everyday life. While we often start out with a huge amount of enthusiasm when we first learn about this universal law, and are determined to change our lives, this enthusiasm can quickly dwindle as the pressures and negativity in the world around us take their toll.
In order to use the law of attraction to bring the abundance and fulfillment you are seeking in your life, you need to stay focused and you need to keep believing through any of the negative events that are going to happen - that is life.
One of the best ways to keep the law of attraction principles in the forefront of your mind at all times is to keep reading and learning as much as you can. There is a ton of information out there for you to take in, and by educating and absorbing all of the documented insights and expertise you can, you will eventually see that you are using these strategies every moment without even needing to think about them.
Another good idea is to form or find a group of people who share your beliefs and who you can talk with about everything you are learning. By having a mastermind group, you keep all of these universal laws out in the open, and you will start to see results. It is good to have a place for open discussion, and to be able to use the enthusiasm of the others in the group to keep your own enthusiasm at its peak levels.
In truth, although it can be difficult to use law of attraction principles everyday - no matter how good your intentions in the beginning. So, keep your enthusiasm strong and your belief solid by reading and learning, as well as by spending time with others who share your excitement and overall enthusiasm for bringing abundance into your life.Don't let the everyday pressures and disbelief in the world around you take away your enthusiasm for bringing abundance into your life! There are already many documented cases of people who use law of attraction principles in their lives - and who have seen the results! Keep learning by reading guides such as the classic Law Of Attraction guide available at http://www.believeyourdreams.com - and you will see the abundance and happiness you are searching for in your own life!

6 Parenting Tips on Special Education Law and Transportation
By JoAnn Collins
Are you the parent of a child with autism or a physical disability that needs transportation? Do you wonder what the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) states is the schools responsibility, to provide transportation for your child? This article will discuss what IDEA requires as far as transportation for your child with a disability. Also discussed are parenting tips that you can use, to help your child receive this important service.
Under IDEA transportation is considered a related service. A related service is transportation, developmental, corrective, and other services. . .as may be required to assist a child with a disability to benefit from special education. . . What this means is that if your child requires transportation in order to benefit from their education, special education personnel are required to provide it.
Parenting Tips:
1. When advocating for your child, remember that; transportation not only means to and from school, but also in and around the school building, and any specialized equipment required by your child.
2. Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act prevents discrimination on the basis of disability. The law reads: No qualified student shall on the basis of handicap, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or otherwise be subjected to discrimination under any . . .transportation. . .or activity.
For Example: Your child with a physical disability is not allowed to go on a field trip, because the class cannot get the wheelchair bus. This would be a section 504 complaint, because your child is being discriminated against, on the basis of their disability. I have dealt with this situation, and the school district usually quickly fixes the transportation problem, if you tell them that you may file a Section 504 complaint. Section 504 is covered by the Office of Civil Rights in Washington, though each state has at least one office.
3. If your child requires an assistant in the classroom then you may be able to get a bus assistant, if your child's disability requires it. The goal of transportation as a related service is to provide safe access to education. So if your child needs a bus assistant in order to get safely to school, school personnel are required to provide it.
4. If your school district is not providing needed transportation for your child, you can be reimbursed, for providing the transportation yourself. Make sure that your child's IEP, states that they need transportation as a related service, and that you will be reimbursed.
A district may also be required to reimburse parents where:
A. Transportation is needed to provide FAPE and the district fails to meet its obligation. B. The district doesn't recognize the need for transportation. C. The district makes inadequate provisions for transportation.
5. If your child's extracurricular activity is related to their IEP goals and objectives, then transportation must be given. For Example: If your child has autism and needs to work on social skills, they can gain that from extra curricular activities. In that case transportation needs to be given by your school district.
6. School districts are not allowed to shorten your child's school day due to transportation. Unfortunately it happens all the time, and you may have to stand up to special education personnel for the good of your child.
IDEA gives children with disabilities equal educational opportunity, which means a full school day. I have often said that if parents of children without disabilities found out there child was to leave school early for transportation, they would be outraged. But parents of special needs children are supposed to accept it. Do not accept it, stand up for your child.
This article has given you a lot of good information about transportation, that you can use to benefit your child's education.JoAnn Collins is the mother of two adults with disabilities, and has helped families navigate the special eduation system, as an advocate, for over 15 years. Real Estate Law Degree - What is it and is it For You?
By Maja Aleksic
What is a Real Estate Law Degree?
The practice of law has undergone major changes in the past 20 years. Today, real estate lawyers work in varied and complex transactions, from simple residential house purchases to commercial projects.
This degree is a mix of law, business and dispute resolution. It will prepare you to deal with issues beyond law school, understanding how law interacts with tax, corporate, and environmental law. You will be faced with issues such as workforce housing, urban redevelopment, commercial leasing and workouts, and energy conservation. It will prepare you to deal with transactions when the economy is booming and when it is not.
What can I do with this type of Law Degree?
Real estate lawyers provide their clients with advice regarding purchase and sale of property, financing and development, construction contracts, investments, environmental compliance and property management. They help clients with governmental zoning restrictions necessary to move forward with projects.
With this type of law degree you could work in law firms, corporations as well as government agencies. You could work in large firms, in the building and zoning departments of counties and municipalities. You could also work for corporations, development companies or title companies. How to Succeed As a First Year Law Student
By Vik S.
If you are already in law school, I'm sure you've heard that your first year of law school is the most important year of your legal education. Indeed, your 1L grades may very well determine your career path. For instance, I started law school believing that I would probably end up working for the government. After doing well as 1L, however, my career path completely changed and I now work for an international law firm.
In this article, I am going to outline a few simple steps you can take to succeed as a 1L:
• While reading cases, focus on the big picture. Try to understand why you are reading this case and how it fits into the big picture. You don't need to worry about every small fact of the case. Just know the main point/principle that comes out of the case and that is what you're going to need for your final exam.
• Attend every class and take thorough notes. Your professor is the one who is going to prepare the final exam and it is very unlikely that he/she is going to cover some subject in the final that he/she did not cover in class.
• Avoid study groups. Seriously, study groups are a waste of time. Law students, especially 1Ls, love to argue about stupid stuff and many times, study group members end up wasting valuable hours arguing about some stupid principle that may or may not be covered in the exam. Instead, have a couple of reliable friends and when you are having trouble understanding some case on your own, ask your friends or the professor for help.
• Prepare attack outlines. Seriously, do you think you would have the time to memorize that 200-page outline of yours? Try preparing short outlines (25-50 pages) and memorize these outlines like crazy!
• Avoid competing. Seriously, it is not healthy for you. Try to compete with only yourself and keep a positive attitude. Last thing you want is to freak out during an exam because you are so eager to kick everyone's ass.
This list is not exhaustive and I'm sure what worked for me may not work for everyone. But still, if this helps you out even a little bit, I would consider the 20 minutes it took for me to write this article as time well spent.
Good luck and happy studying!http://www.4LawNotes.com - Hundreds of free law school case briefs.

The Law of Attraction - Inspirational Quotes!
By Mike Perras
Much has been written about the Law of Attraction. I think the movie "The Secret" had a lot to do with that as well. When we are self-empowered, we feel inspired. Being inspired and in a sense of inspiration, can actually change lives and in many cases actually create miracles. I could write chapters around each of these quotes, but for now ..
Here Are 10 of The Best Law of Attraction Quotes I Have Collected:
1 - "Have an Attitude of Gratitude in all that you do." 2 - "Energy flows where attention goes." 3 - "Do not give others the chance to create your happiness." 4 - "Success is something you attract." 5 - "Wherever you are, be there." 6 - "Don't leave the game unplayed." 7 - "Stand tall in your own eyes." 8 - "Don't major in minor things." 9 - "Language, it says a lot about you." 10 - "To have more, you have to become more."
At the very heart of the Law of Attraction are a few major principles. Your Attitude of Gratitude is that reciprocal energy force at work, you get what you give. Be grateful daily for the smallest of things. Give to others easily and receive things with greater ease. Giving and receiving are energy forces at work. Just look to nature, the sun and rain gives way to growth and prosperity. Giving and receiving is that reciprocal energy force I mentioned.
Your emotional intelligence keeps you calm and grounded. Your level of empathy and compassion are the heart and soul of you emotional intelligence. If you don't feel empathy and compassion for others on a regular basis, your EI needs some work and the Law of Attraction works best with a strong emotional intelligence.
Clarity and focus, knowing what you want, and being able to articulate the details. If you desire a new house, new career, weight lose, more money or a new relationship. Paint a picture, fill it with all the details. Paint a picture with words first, and you'll really start to see what you want. Seeing it clearly is important. And remember, the focus is only on what you want, never on what you don't want. Any negatives must be removed from this process. Everything in your picture has to be positive. It's easy to have random thoughts of what you desire, however, it's best to create real pictures of those things. Then you can look at your pictures and the focus becomes very very clear.
In short, the Law of Attraction works best when using actual pictures of the things you desire most!Your Action Item Today: Do what I do! Start collecting the pictures of the things you desire most. Your Law of Attraction Pictures will keep you very focused and inspired. Actual pictures will focus your energy, and that's exactly what we need for the Law of Attraction to manifest quickly!

The Law of Attraction - Become Inspired!
By Mike Perras
Some say they have never felt so charged with new energy as when they become enlightened about the Law of Attraction.
It's so easy to see why people become inspired. Career paths and marriages almost become super charged overnight as a result of this new focus.
Here's why the Law of Attraction changes lives everyday:
1 - Gratitude: Anywhere you look, the Law of Attraction only works when the # 1 Gratitude rule is completely embraced. One's Attitude of Gratitude is paramount and in direct proportion to what one receives in this life. The most giving are usually the most receiving. Maybe not by your standards or mine, but by their own acknowledgment.
2 - Clarity: When one embraces the Law of Attraction, it's very clear that one needs to stay focused. In fact, it breaks the cycle of one's habitual multi-tasking nature. The Law of Attraction, through it's forced focus style, asks that you do one thing well, and not ten things poorly. It's true, multi-tasking gets many things done, unfortunately, not very well. This point alone will change your mindset and super charge your organizational skills.
3 - Vision: Through your new Law of Attraction eyes, you'll develop a passionate vision of what it is you really want. When your clear picture is defined, you can actually articulate it in great detail versus only having a general idea with no real terms of reference. It all stems from that original focus I mentioned.
4 - A Certain Way: Wallace Wattles identified this almost 100 years ago. Doing things in a certain way can bring very rewarding results. The Law of Attraction is all about finding that Certain Way, that way that works, and then making it a way of life, everyday. Call it a success pattern if you like, but it does apply to everything you can ever imagine doing in your life.
In short, the Law of Attraction, will re-focus your life, regardless of you age or gender.Your Action Item Today: Do what I do! Start collecting the pictures of the things you desire most. Your Law of Attraction Pictures will keep you very focused and inspired.

Legal Services of Labor Law Attorneys
by Manuel Salvacion
Labor law attorneys deal with a broad range of labor issues mainly related to how employers treat employees, former employees and applicants for employment. This includes all the areas of the employer-employee relationship, negotiations, and the collective bargaining agreement.
Generally, labor laws were designed to create a bargaining balance between employers and employees; prohibiting management and the union from engaging in "unfair labor practices" and encouraging both parties to engage in faithful collective bargaining.
Labor laws also grant employees the right to unionize and allow employers and employees to engage in typical union activities like strikes, pickets, seeking injunctions, and lockouts, which is done for getting their demands heard.
What Labor Law Attorneys Can Do
Labor law attorneys deal mostly with employers and the union. These lawyers help management by carrying out following tasks:
• Reviewing client employee handbooks, manuals and policy statements
• Assisting with federal and state wage and hour law issues and claims
• Representing employers before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and state human rights agencies
• Representing employers in unfair labor practice proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board and state labor agencies
• Providing representation for grievance and arbitration hearings under the collective bargaining agreements
• Collective bargaining on behalf of clients including strategic planning and acting as spokesperson
• Counseling on issues related to strikes or lockouts, and providing related litigation support
On the other hand, these lawyers also help employees in the workplace. They assist employees' families recover money and other compensation from illegal practices of certain employers. In addition to other labor-related disputes, they handle issues of discrimination (ADA, family leave, ERISA), wage claims, wrongful termination or demotion, invasion of privacy, whistle-blowing (Qui Tam), harassment, unemployment, retaliation, and workers' compensation.
Employment and labor law professionals handle disputes with insurance claims, lawsuits, and court trials. For employers, labor attorneys may review contracts, agreements, and policy publications. They can fine-tune non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, severance agreements, independent contractor agreements, collective bargaining agreements, trade secrets documentation, employee policy manuals, and dispute resolution procedures. They also negotiate with claimants, public workers, unions, and labor organizations.
How a Labor Law Attorney Can Help You
• Assess your legal rights - The attorney will help you determine whether your rights have been violated or not, the strengths and weaknesses of your claim, and the legal consequences of filing a suit.
• Act as your legal coach - By acting as your legal coach, a labor lawyer will:
o explain what laws work best for you and how to enforce your right, o advise you on the merits of your claim, o give you feedback on court procedures, o alert you to any problem areas, o suggest evidence that may be useful to your claim; o and draft or write the necessary paperwork.
• Negotiate - He will also deal with all levels of negotiation for your claims and represent you in confronting your employer. He can also help you finalize any agreement or settlement.
• Handle all communication -He will draft all letters, correspondence and even answer calls related to your concern
• Initiate legal action in the appropriate courtBefore becoming an online writer, Manuel worked as a journalist, a newspaper columnist, a scriptwriter, a fiction writer, a magazine editor, and a tutor. He acquired his legal background as a Senate legislative officer and later on, as a researcher and paralegal staff in various law offices. Someday he hoped to go back and devote more time to writing fiction, which is his first passion.
Our labor law attorneys are very much capable in upholding the rights of the aggrieved employees. Contact us and we will be more than glad to provide help.

Elder Law Power of Attorney - Protecting Your Loved Ones
By George Dickerman
There are few circumstances when your loved one should execute a financial power of attorney that gives their agent the immediate authority to make financial decisions. Financial powers of attorney are one of the easiest ways to commit elder financial abuse.
The preferred method is to require that the agent's authority is granted only after two qualified medical doctors declare in writing, under penalty of perjury, that the elder is mentally incompetent and unable to make sound financial decisions.
Although still not foolproof, this requirement gives a great deal of protection against financial exploitation. A bad guy must now involve two doctors in order to carry out the rip-off.
It is always possible that the perpetrator will simply have the elder execute a new power of attorney that revokes all prior powers and gives the agent the immediate authority. When family members and friends are actively involved in the elder's life, the crook will have much more difficulty in accomplishing this without being caught.
When the elder has no immediate family or friends, the odds of being financially abused are greatly increased. However, there are still some preventive measures that can be taken to reduce the risk.
Speak with bank personnel and other financial institutions where the elder's money is invested. Show them the power of attorney and explain that its purpose is to protect the elder in case someone tries to take advantage. Point out the added protection that requires two qualified medical doctors confirm the elder's lack of capacity before the power of attorney is effective.
Ask them to red-flag the elder's accounts by placing a computer notation that the bank personnel should question any substantial withdrawals or unusual activity.
In my city and state (Riverside, California), for example, a law exists that makes all bank employees a mandated reporter. This requires bank personnel to report any reasonably suspicious activity to local law enforcement. In states where similar laws exist, bank employees will receive some training to identify the signs of financial exploitation in order to comply with their mandated reporter requirements.
Many family members hesitate on broaching the subject of powers of attorney, in fear that their elderly loved one may take offence and tell them to mind their own business. Every family has their own unique dynamics. However, you can ease some of the awkwardness by doing some of your own research and sharing it with your loved one. Many counties agencies have informational brochures that explain the purpose in creating powers of attorney and how they can assist in financial matters.
Delaying the discussion often results in no action being taken. Then, when the need arises, it is often too late because the elder no longer has the requisite mental capacity needed to execute the power of attorney.
There is no surefire way to avoid financial exploitation of an elder. However, through education, discussion and assistance with the financial institutions involved, and with the help of a qualified elder law attorney, a power of attorney can be put in place that affords piece of mind that the chances of financial abuse are minimized.

Getting Instantaneous Results With the Law of Attraction
By Travis Winn
If you are a student of the Law of Attraction, then you understand how manifestations occur once the subconscious mind has accepted a desired outcome to be true. This is often difficult for many people to do. Many have deep rooted limiting beliefs that often take much time to replace. Many of the areas that this occurs most with are love, beauty, physical health, and prosperity.
There are numerous ways to influence the subconscious mind with your conscious thoughts in order to produce a desired outcome. Just about everyone utilizing the Law of Attraction use visualizations, affirmations, meditations, and constant positive attention and intention on the desired experience. What if there was a way to take the belief factor out of the Law of Attraction process? What if it were possible to simply know what you really want, and then be able to get it without investing a great deal of time to create an affirmative belief?
Well I have been fortunate to stumble across a simple method that does exactly that. It is not a brand new discovery. In fact, the research and validity of the method I am about to share with you was developed over a 30 year period, from the 1930's and finally brought to the public attention in the 1960's. It baffles me why it hasn't been recognized and learned by a greater number of people. I guess this is because there was only one book ever written on it. It may have been before its time, and therefore has been out of print for many years. The book was entitled "The Secret of Perfect Living" by James Mangan.
As I researched the method further, I realized that people, a small number of very fortunate people, have been using this technique for years with absolutely mind boggling results. I decided to test it out for myself, and I too have have truly phenomenal results. I have enjoyed a number of manifestations that have occurred in almost a miraculously short period of time. I have used it with financial intentions, and from the day I began I have been given gifts, prize money, refunds, an increase in business and sales, as well as just simply finding money on a daily basis.
The method involves the use of "switchwords." This was the word used by the originator, James Mangan, because he likened their use to that of "switching on a lamp." When the right switchword is used in a particular situation, the result comes just as easily as turning on a light.
Many people use affirmations to influence their subconscious mind with whatever it is they are seeking. There are two problems that can work against affirmations, both of which are completely negated by the switchwords. The first is the fact that long strings of words that make up traditional affirmations are somewhat inconvenient to utilize. Coming up with the perfect combinations of words to evoke a positive emotion can often be laborious, and it is not always easy to recall a long affirmation.
The next problem goes back to our beliefs. As you know, beliefs are the deciding factor of whether we get what we want or what we do not want. Affirmations sometimes have an adverse effect. If we really do not believe that we can achieve the outcome we hope for, a little voice inside ours heads will tell us "that's not true!" and can create negative emotions.
As I said, switchwords take care of both of these factors. A switchword is a single word that encompasses an entire desired result. Therefore it is not necessary to remember and repeat long sentences. The most powerful factor of a switchword however is the fact that it takes belief out of the equation. As we know, a repeated affirmation will gradually begin to be accepted by our subconscious mind, and as it is the desired outcome will begin to appear in our life experience. The switchwords (the list of which has over 100 words for specific proposes) instantly pass on the wanted outcome to our subconscious mind, and no belief is required. Days, weeks and months of repetition are not needed, because the subconscious mind instantaneously picks up on the desired outcome and goes right to work.
I have limited room here so I am just going to relate a few of the most commonly used switchwords, ones that can easily be used on a daily basis. I will tell you where to find more switchwords at the end of this article.
Common Switchwords-
Find- To build a fortune and receive unexpected things of value
Count-To make money and increase business
Give- To successfully sell something
Reach-To find lost items or recall forgotten information (names, phone numbers, etc.) Also great for coming up with solutions to problems.
Fight-To win a contest or excel at a game
Care-To aid in memorization
Next-To finish up a lot of unwanted work
Chuckle-To enhance your personality
Up-To get out of a slump, to get rid of depression
Stretch-For an enhanced feeling of well-being
Praise-To make yourself more beautiful
Hole-To attract the attention of a lover
Divine-To call forth extra ability, to work miracles
Cancel-To eliminate unwanted thoughts
Be-For good health and peace of mind
These words are some of the most readily used, and most can be applied in a variety of situations. Each word relates a specific desired outcome directly to your subconscious mind, which instantly takes it up and begins acting on it. This is the Law of Attraction super-charged, and can really be a lot of fun to put into action. Test a few of the switchwords out. An easy way to get acquainted with them is to play with one at a time. Next time you can't find your car keys, begin repeating (silently OR aloud) the word REACH. You will be amazed at the rapidity in which you find them.
My favorites are count and find. I have been repeating them all throughout the day for only a couple of weeks and have had so much unexpected money flow into my life. I have also received many other things of value (dinners, gas, etc.) completely out of the blue. I have used reach many times. I used it to score very highly on a college exam that I was not prepared for. It has been a lot of fun using the switchwords, and I'm enjoying them just as much (if not more) than when I first began using other methods of the Law of Attraction.
The switchwords simplify, demystify, and take the belief factor out of using the Law of Attraction. This can really provide very quick results and some fun experiences. Have a go at it, pick a few and test them out. Let me know it you have any cool experiences to share. I have been told of lottery winnings, new business deals, job promotions, and even changed physical appearances (at least perceived by others.) Have fun testing it out for yourself! And for more info on the history, use, and many other usable switchwords from the original list, check out http://www.home-business-advantage.com/applying-the-law-of-attraction.html

Internet Piracy of the Nations - Piracy Law Treaty Negotiations
By Stephen Watson
Internet piracy disrupts economic growth across the continents. How nations react to Internet piracy could well define the future economic health of a nation. Piracy laws and copyright infringement laws have reached global attention - and international treaties continue to grow that seek to give credit to the originator and encourage economic gain while still promoting freedom, progress and education.
Copyright laws have existed for centuries but have been weak in international standards. The swell of Internet Piracy clearly advanced the heightening necessity of developing international standards. In 1994, the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) resulted in the Agreement on Trade Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS), which provided a foundation for standards in copyright infringement laws and regulations. Internet piracy law, copyright infringement, and intellectual law were addressed globally at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), a division of the United Nations, in 1996. As a result, 184 nations have now signed the World Intellectual Property Organization Copyright Treaty - a modern predecessor of the 1883 Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property and the 1886 Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works.
WIPO strives to develop "a balanced and accessible international intellectual property (IP) system, which rewards creativity, stimulates innovation and contributes to economic development while safeguarding the public interest." Nations are joining forces to protect the rights of their creative citizens and increase their potential for international economic gain - but not without strife. Many nations still resist the stringent copyright infringement laws of the West. Other nations, such as Canada, develop creative solutions, such as placing a levy on blank CD purchases. However, the US, Japan and the European Union began negotiating towards a tougher Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) in 2007 to combat Internet piracy and toughen piracy law.
The US has substantial financial interest in combating Internet piracy The RIAA, one America's largest advocates for overhauling the current state of Internet Piracy and Piracy Law, has given the US valid concerns over stifled economic growth due to Internet piracy and copyright infringement - and statistics to support it. The RIAA invested substantial resources to support their strong stance on religious adherences to piracy law. A verified report by the Institute for Policy Innovation (IPA) declared that Internet piracy accounts for a $2.7 billion loss in workers' earnings and a $131 million in lost corporate income and production taxes - not to mention a loss of $291 million in personal income tax that the US could surely use to offset its deficit.
Internet piracy laws and the definitions of copyright infringement are at the top of international trade agendas across the continents. Piracy law will continue to undergo substantial review as the Internet and other forms of technology progress. The United Nations has already developed task force groups to analyze the Internet-driven economy of the future - and the potential for new and stronger surges of Internet piracy and copyright infringement that will come with it. When the nations can peacefully recognize both state and international copyright protections that give credit to the originator and promote a healthy economy, while still retaining the freedoms of the Internet, then perhaps global trade agreements might run as smoothly as a website visit to a country that's just an ocean away. Until then, the transitioning copyright infringement and intellectual property agreements will continue to determine the future state of our Internet-driven economy.Piracyisacrime.org provides resourceful information on Copyright Infringement, software piracy and warez.

Leadership for Lawyers, Second Edition
by Julie Fleming Brown
This book answers the important question raised by U.S. Judge James Barr. The question is:
I am delving into whether there is support for the hypothesis that leadership skills developed and implemented by individual lawyers (even when not serving in bar organizations) can significantly impact and influence an entire legal community in such areas as (1) improved ethical and civility standards and performance, (2) more effective assimilation of new lawyers into the legal community, and (3) improved relations between bench and bar. In other words, I am at least curious about whether development of leadership skills by individual lawyers can positively impact the quality of lawyering in a legal community -- even when working outside the institutional (i.e., bar organization) context.
This book answers Judge Barr's question in the affirmative.
The second edition of Leadership for Lawyers was published in December 2007. It convincingly makes the case that leadership (and therefore leadership development training and coaching) offers solutions to many of the problems and challenges facing the profession, including high levels of attorney and client dissatisfaction, growing economic pressures on law firms, increasing lack of civility, and outdated law firm governance practices. Rubenstein, who was a trial lawyer for more than twenty-five years, has a good grasp of the challenges and explains clearly how the profession will benefit from widespread leadership development.
The basis premise of Leadership for Lawyers is that "when lawyers and all those who work in the legal profession begin to understand the basic theories of leadership and are better trained in the field of leadership development, they will become better leaders, will provide better legal services, and will create better law firms and legal organizations. As a consequence, the reputation of lawyers and the legal profession as a whole will improve." The thesis is exhaustively examined and proved throughout the book.
Rubenstein devotes some space to leadership theory and to the relationship between ethics, natural law, and leadership, as well as to how leadership development for lawyers might be structured. Recognizing that leadership theory is such a broad topic that it would be impossible to cover the field in a single book, lawyers who read through the sections on "Leadership Behavioral Styles" and "Ninety Brand of Leadership" will get a taste of leadership theory but not a firm grounding. The bibliography, however, includes a number of classic books on leadership that will provide a deeper understanding of how leaders may develop.
Notably, Rubenstein makes a significant contribution on theory by proposing the "leader of leaders" theory of leadership: "Leaders of followers are mainly problem solvers. Leaders of leaders establish platforms and seek to create an environment so that followers can act as leaders themselves, solve their own problems, and make excellent decisions consistent with the platform that the leader of leaders sets." This theory, which Rubenstein traces back to the Book of Exodus, should speak to lawyers particularly. It also illustrates the multiple levels of leadership that are present in the profession and that leadership depends on action and attitude, not merely a title.
I don't agree with everything in the book, of course. The chapter titled Women, Leadership, and the Legal Profession, written by Laura Rothacker, is a good addition to the discussion of women in law overall, but one sentence in it literally (I'm embarrassed to admit) had me screaming out loud in frustration and anger. That sentence is: "Women should be aware that the focus on billable hours represents an institutional form of discrimination against their achieving success and leadership roles." I'll address this elsewhere one of these days. Even that assertion, however, doesn't dim my enthusiasm for Leadership for Lawyers, though it did prompt me to read rather more critically than I might have otherwise.
Leadership for Lawyers is an important book for lawyers seeking ways to grow themselves and other lawyers because it establishes conclusively why leadership matters for lawyers. It should be mandatory reading for law firm managing partners and partners in charge of professional development and highly encouraged reading for other lawyers and law students who aspire to do well in and for the profession and for their clients. I highly recommend it.Julie Fleming-Brown, J.D., A.C.C. provides attorney development coaching for associates and partners, and she is a speaker for law firm retreats and workshops.
