Storage Unit And The Law

People often ask for advice on what they should NOT do while using a self storage unit. This is a great question, and here are just a few answers. It is against the law in every state to put anything hazardous in a self storage unit. The reasons for this law are fairly obvious. No one wants to store his or her items in a facility that might blow up or catch fire!
Items that are combustible or flammable are not permitted in a self storage unit. This will include stuff like nail polish remover, charcoal lighter fluid, and kerosene. The gasoline needs to be removed from lawnmowers and snow blowers before they can be put away in a self storage unit. The propane tank needs to be detached from the barbeque grill before stowing it away.
Things that are corrosive are not allowed in a self storage unit. This includes car batteries, pesticides, and poisons such as weed killer. Household chemicals can be brought to the new house or given to neighbors, but they are not permitted in a self storage unit.
Anything explosive needs to be packed away somewhere other than a self storage unit. Fireworks, ammunition, and chemistry sets cannot be put into the space.
Perishables are not allowed in a self storage unit. Frozen or refrigerated food cannot be stored, along with any containers of food that have been opened. These will spoil, and will attract rodents and other unwanted critters.
Anything living is not permitted in a self storage unit. This obviously includes people and animals, but it also pertains to things such as plants. The plants attract pests while they are alive, and will rot when they die.
Anything illegal is not permitted in a self storage unit. This clearly includes the manufacturing of drugs such as meth labs and marijuana cultivating. This rule also includes things like stolen property. This is one reason why a storage facility wants to see proof of ownership and insurance when renting a self storage unit to someone parking a car or a truck.
There are things that are not against the law to put into a self storage unit, but it is recommended that these items not be stored in one if at all possible.
Anything that has a great deal of sentimental value to you and that cannot be replaced should not be put into a self storage unit. Although most storage facilities are as safe as possible, just like with anything else there is always the chance that something might go wrong. There is always the possibility of a fire or windstorm or water problems.
Avoid storing important documents such as passports, medical and dental records, and insurance and financial papers. There are always the stories of people being unable to get to their passport for the ski trip to Austria on Christmas Day or of not being able to get their childs birth certificate in time for the first day of school or not being able to get to their car title to sell the auto. Most storage facilities have limited access hours, so tenants should keep all important papers with them, and not in a self storage unit.
Family photographs, wedding albums, and address books want to be kept somewhere besides a self storage unit. And remember to keep all prescription medications with you, and not inadvertently in a box that winds up packed away.
Storing your items in a self storage facility where the manager actually lives on the property will give you the peace of mind that this employee is able to keep a better eye on things. The manager will notice if anything peculiar is going on.

Law Of Attraction Tips: The Little-known Truth About Vision Boards

I was asked this week about vision boards. Here are some of my answers of one of the more popular manifestation strategies as made famous in The Secret.
What is a vision board and how does it work?
A vision board is a place where you can assemble images, words, drawings, and objects that represent your desired intentions and goals.
You can use a pin board, or a piece of cardboard to glue images on to, or even a computer program complete with video and music.
Vision boards serve two purposes:
1. To maintain your focus and attention on your desired goals
2. To keep you excited about your desired goals.
Vision boards work by keeping you in resonance with your goals. What does this mean? You will attract what you want a lot faster when you have your focus firmly on what you want AND feel excited about it.
The emotions you feel consistently are the language of energetic attraction: energy of a particular vibration is attracted to energy of the same vibration.
When you feel good, you attract more people, things, and circumstances that also feel good. If you feel lousy, grumpy, and angry, guess what? You attract more of the same.
This is what the expression 'these things come in threes' is all about.
How you feel is more important than anything else in the manifestation process.
What should we put on our vision board?
Anything you like! Anything that makes your heart sing, feel alive and excited is fair game for the Vision Board.
How important is it to be realistic about what we put on there?
There are no limitations as to what you 'should' or 'should not' put on the vision board. Being 'realistic' is only a matter of perspective and most people dream far, far too little for themselves.
Here is the main rule about vision boards that is not often explained well:
If you look at your vision board and feel deflated, or worried, or pessimistic, then you will attract people, things, and circumstances that reflect that emotional vibration. In other words, unless you feel great when looking at your vision board, then the vision board is being counterproductive: you can't attract what you desire in a state of doubt, stress, or worry.
So here are your choices if you do feel stress worry, or doubt about your vision board:
1. Change what you've got on there so you do feel excited and confident about creating this experience in your life.
2. Change your limiting beliefs about what is possible for you, and more importantly, what you believe you deserve.
Using affirmations is one way to change beliefs, but this takes quite a long time to effect change. PSYCH-K is my preferred method. This is a kinesiology-based process that works in five minutes or less. It's really quite impressive. I've used it to change beliefs about all sorts of fears including procrastination, self-doubt, self-worth and much more.
Beware the 'naysayers'. This is where the 'be realistic' sentiments often come from. These are people who might scoff at your vision board, roll their eyes or call you a woowoo fruitloop.
You can either change your beliefs about needing other people's approval and avoid these negative folks, or move your vision board away from the critics.
What are your best tips for creating a vision board and making it work?
Whether you use vision boards, treasure boxes (same idea - just put your images/postcards/magazine clippings/objects in a box that you label the 'magic box' or something similar), or letters to yourself, or visualization, these manifestation strategies are really one of the LAST things you should be doing in the manifestation process.
The manifestation steps are:
Get clear on your FOCUS. This is all about how you want to FEEL when you achieve your goal. This is the real intention.
Step 1: Clean up your vibe. Clear any limiting beliefs you may have about achieving this goal - like 'I don't deserve it', 'I'll never be able to do that', or 'I have no idea how to get that'.
Step 2: Get in resonance. If your goal is to feel freedom and you want to express that through the experience of owning a brand new Maserati spider sports car, then find ways of feeling freedom now. For example, you might express freedom now by going for a walk in the park, or having a snooze, or surfing, or finger painting, or vacuuming nude (a very fun way to feel freedom!)
Step 3: Keep your focus. This where your vision board or other manifestation technique comes in. Your vision board is used as a trigger to keep you excited on your goals, and a reminder to keep your focus on opportunities that will lead you towards this goal.
Step 4: Amp up your vibe. This means upping how good you feel on a daily basis by expressing genuine gratitude for all the big and little things in your life now. Laughing and goofing off are also excellent ways to amp up the vibe.
Step 5: Give up deadlines. As soon as you start wondering 'when' or 'how' things are going to happen for you, you are killing your attraction vibe. It also shows that you are not firmly in the present moment - the now is where all the power of attraction really lies.
So stop regretting the past or fantasizing about the future - bring your appreciation and attention back to the present moment. This may at first seem to contradict the notion behind the vision board which is, after all, a collection of images about something you desire to occur that has not yet occurred.
However consider the distinction: worrying about how things are going to happen, or feeling excited about how things may happen. One is about struggle and anxiety, the other is about delighted anticipation.
This is really the old cliché, 'it's all about the journey, not the destination'. I would amend this a little to: 'It' all about enjoying the journey AND the destination.' Anthony Robbins calls this 'happily achieving' versus 'achieving to be happy".
Step 6: Enjoy the miracles. Manifestation happens each day. Most people are oblivious to all the fantastic and fabulous things occurring all around them each day that are already showering them in wealth, abundance, and prosperity.
Any manifestation strategy you use ought to be fun and light-hearted. So have fun!
To your success,

Selfish Law Of Attraction

Just like gravity has just one job, the Law of Attraction also has one job too. Its job is to match like energy with like energy.
If you feel miserable and depressed, don’t be surprised that you experience more unwanted people, places and circumstances. Through the Law of Attraction, you will attract more of it by what you give your attention to.
If you feel good on the other hand, you will be attracting more circumstances that will please you because that is what you’re aligned with.
The art of becoming a deliberate creator is to practice feeling good as much of the time as is possible so that you will attract what you want and effectively become the deliberate designer of your life.
Selfishly choosing to feel good over bad thoughts is exactly the way to go about this. If you do not choose good feeling thoughts, you will attract the unwanted opposite.
If you’re not selfish enough to feel good, then you will never attract the perfect life you desire. Most of us are conditioned into thinking that being selfish is a bad thing. Hoarding money and not sharing food for example would be one example of how being selfish could be seen as selfish behaviour.
Being so selfish that you do not let anyone else’s negativity into your life should not be seen as an unwanted behaviour at all. If you don’t have this level of selfishness then you will be giving away your power and relinquishing control. You will not become the deliberate creator of your experience.
Being so picky, so choosey and so selfish about how you feel will undoubtedly bring you more joy, more abundance and more fun into your life.
When someone who is stuck in a negative thinking cycle speaks to you and tells you their woes, there is sometimes a desire to discuss it with them. You may feel like you can help this person if you sink down to where they’re at and try to talk them out of it.
Unfortunately this effort can be very futile and can end up with you lowering your vibration and your feelings so that you too will attract unwanted circumstances. Is this any way to help someone? In my opinion, it is not.
If you truly desire to help someone get out of a negative pattern, then become the example and show them through your own participation in life what is possible. They’ll quickly realize that what they’re doing isn’t productive for anyone and the more they observe your fun-filled life, the more they will want it for themselves.
The more they want it… the more desire is being born within them. The more desire that is born within… the more response from the universe.
Don’t drop your vibration for anyone. Be so selfish that you will do anything to feel good as much of the time as possible. Help yourself first so that you can help others, if that is your desire.
And if that isn’t your desire, then ensure you achieve a high vibration as much of the time as possible so that you live the life you truly desire and deserve to have.
