The Purpose of Yoga: Success and the Law of Karma

Submitted by Paul M.
We cannot help the poor much, if we are also poor. You can perform selfless service (Karma Yoga), no matter how much money you have; but you cannot contribute food to the poor, if you are waiting in line at a soup kitchen.
Some Gurus, and Master Yoga, teachers do not embrace the concept of Yogic principles being used for success, self-improvement, and for acquiring abundance. After all, many people have misused power, and abundance, ever since primal man could stand up on two feet.
Lord Acton's words ring true very often, when he said, "Power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely." Many times, throughout history, famous people have fallen prey to power, which they thought they could handle, but learned that temptation was more powerful than their code of ethics.
Yet, we cannot help the poor much, if we are also poor. You can perform selfless service (Karma Yoga), no matter how much money you have; but you cannot contribute food to the poor, if you are waiting in line at a soup kitchen.
Therefore, if you have a plan for success, you should also have a plan to help those in need. The ancient Yogis completely understood the difference between wanting and envisioning. They also understood the pitfalls of each.
Children "want," and so do "big children," in adult bodies. They want without vision and take no action. Adults who take no action have mottos such as: "Why me?" "Why is life so unfair?" and "If life was fair, I would be rich."
Whatever fortune falls into the lap of a person who wants, it is taken for granted and quickly squandered. The saying, "Easy come, easy go," can become a lifestyle.
Envisioning is completely different from wanting. Envisioning allows a person to take a concerted effort toward a goal and achieve it. When a Yoga practitioner envisions something, it will often "come to pass," because he or she took action, in the form of small steps, to make a thought become reality.
It is interesting, when the world, outside India, is "hooked" on Hatha Yoga (Union by Physical Mastery). Yet, Bhakti Yoga, Karma Yoga, Jnana Yoga, and Raja Yoga, are considered more advanced forms because they enhance mental and spiritual health. You see, the real power is in the mental and spiritual forms of Yoga.
Luckily, most people age, and mellow a bit, before discovering the true powers of envisioning and action. However, integrity ethics, and character, are often in short supply, when someone becomes "instantly rich."
How often do we read about sports, and movie celebrities, who cannot handle their instant fame or material wealth? This is why the Law of Karma, and practicing Karma Yoga, are so important. Design a plan to give, help, and forgive, whenever you envision success.

Putting The Law Of Attraction To Work For You

Submitted by Rima
How many times have you sat back and thought how wonderful it would be if you could just wish things true? But you can, and only you can create your own destiny.
Humans have always been attracted to this kind of fantasy, embodied in the fairy tale of Aladdin and the Magic Lamp. This desire, this need to have what seems unattainable is evident in the popularity of gambling and the state lotteries. People will spend their last dollars for the chance to change their entire lives in the course of fiver minutes. But the irony is vast. Without knowing it, humans have had the power to obtain their dreams within them all along. So have you. It is called the Law of Attraction. It has been around since the universe began, and it is working in your life right now.
The simplest way of defining the Law of Attraction is this: You get what you think about, your thoughts determine your destiny. Thoughts have an energy all their own, and they attract things which have a common energy. It is one of the Laws of the Divine Universe and it applies to everyone. It is as unbreakable as any law of science or mathematics. It does not even require your belief to work. Only to control it, to seize your destiny, must you believe in the Law's power.
So the question is: how can you use the Law of Attraction to get what you desire? There are some guidelines to help you get started on the right path. Firstly, you must decide what it is that you desire. This is called developing clarity. If you find it difficult to determine what it is that you want, try thinking of it in the contrast. When you find what it is in life that you don't want, it will be much easier to pinpoint what it is that you do want.
Your second step on this path is to use a technique called vibrational matching. This is nothing more or less than using quiet meditation to determine your feelings on your perceived desire. Use feeling and meditation to determine if your thoughts are predominately positive about this desire.
Finally, you must allow your desire to come to you. Your would be surprised at how often we prevent ourselves from getting what we want by focusing on the negative. Begin allowing things to come to you, and stop waging wars against the things you do not want. If you are fighting something, that means you are thinking about it. Therefore, without even realizing it, you are attracting the very things you are fighting against.
The Law of Attraction is working in all places at all times. It is up to you to use it for yourself, rather than allow it to use you.

The Law Of Attraction - Power Of Thoughts

Submitted by Rima
We are all working with one power of the Law of Attraction. All powers are within and therefore under our own control.
What are you thinking about right now? The Law of Attraction states that "whatever we think about, we bring about". This law may initially seem like new age fluff but believe it or not, there are scientific merits to this proposition. The top quantum physicists of our time have discovered that our universe and our reality is very much directed by the "observer".
When studying quantum particles (the smallest observable unit of matter), these scientists discovered that such particles behave in accordance with the person conducting the experiment. It the scientists "predict" that quantum particles behave in a certain way, they do. And yet, if the scientists "predict" that quantum particles behave in another way, they do. It is the "observer" that dictates the outcome of the experiment!
What does all this mean for us normal people? Well actually, these scientific experiments has far reaching implications for us as our world is made up of these same quantum particles! In this case, we are the "observer" the director and hence the creator of our reality, our world and our experience.
The Law of Attraction indifferent to the words preceding your thought. Whatever you think about you will attract into your life. When you think "I don't understand why bad things always happen to me?", you are "attracting" bad things into your life. When you think "I want to get out of debt", you are attracting more debt into your life. When you think "I'm worried I will get sick", you are attracting sickness into your life! The Law of Attraction brings about what you focus on even if it is not what you want.
If you understand this principle, here are some examples of how to make the law of attraction work to support you rather than to act against you. Try observing your thoughts and changing your thinking in the positive way.
Now that we have a better understanding of the Law of Attraction, it is no surprise why so many people struggle with regards to money. It is been said that "the rich get richer while the poor get poorer". This is actually the Law of Attraction in action. Because the wealthy have money, they often think about how to best use their money and hence they attract more money. The poor on the other hand often think about their present lack of money and unfortunately, that also attracts lack into their lives. Currently, 96% of the world's wealth is being earned by just 1% of the population!
To address this issue, the main teachers behind the movie The Secret is launching a program called "The Science of Getting Rich" and it is based on employing the law of attraction to create wealth. This amazing program is based on the principles and philosophies outlined in a book of the same title written in 1910 by Wallace D Wattles. This is the same book that inspired the movie.
What is the Science of Getting Rich about? Well in the words of Wallace D. Wattles, "The ownership of money and property comes as a result of doing things in a certain way. Those who do things in this certain way, whether on purpose or accidentally, get rich. Those who do not do things in this certain way, no matter how hard they work or how able they are, remain poor. It is a natural law that like causes always produce like effects. Therefore, any man or woman who learns to do things in this certain way will infallibly get rich."

The Perfect Relationship: Using The Law Of Attraction To Find Love

In this article we apply the lessons of the Law of Attraction to partnership relationships or romantic relationships, though the insights discussed apply to all relationships of all kinds - friends, parent/child, etc.
The people we attract to ourselves in life match up vibrationally with some energy we're projecting. Attracting the right kinds of matches into your life then requires first and foremost accepting responsibility for the people you do attract. And taking responsibility for the kinds of people who show up in your life entails taking responsibility for how - you show up - in your life, inside and out. Change your vibrations, change what (and who) they attract.
Love is an energy - one we foster from within. When we access that energy of love from within, we project its vibrations outside of us; in our actions and in our being, we come from a place of love. This invariably attracts that same energy of love into our lives, for example in the form of other people to love who are also loving us.
One of the problems people have in getting the love they want is that so much of what people call 'love' isn't love at all. Often it's attachment: to the other person, to the relationship looking the way you think it should look, or even an attachment to 'drama'. Other times it's fear: fear of loss, fear of not being worthy of love, or one we hear a lot, fear of being happy, which really just amounts to more fear of not being worthy of love and fear of loss.
Some sages say that people 'crush' love like a bird in the hand when you hold onto it too hard, and while the image may be apt we prefer to say that when you cling to love you detach from it. If that sounds like a paradox, you're catching on. Clinging to love out of attachment and fear disengages you from the love itself and grips you to your attachment and fear. As does clinging to your ideas of what love should look like when and if it ever does come.
Love is an energy. It cannot be gripped any more than you can grip light; you can only be bathed in it, or shut yourself away in the dark. But the light is there nonetheless, and right outside the door. Love flows, and to have the relationship of your fondest desires, let the love flow through you and from within you.
Rather than focusing on fixing the problems in your relationship (or your utter lack of one), engage in the flow of love and watch the problems (or lack) dissolve. Change the circumstances, situations, and conditions you find yourself in by allowing yourself to feel here and now the love you aim to feel for the new circumstances, situations, and conditions.
The perfect relationship with another person comes from nurturing a perfect relationship with yourself; in other words: loving yourself fully and unconditionally as you are, and appreciating yourself fully for all the love you have inside to give.
