The Law Of Attraction In The Marketplace

Submitted by John
Can we really "manifest" success without taking action?
I have been studying and applying the success formula's of many of the great masters for many years. In the past year or so, thanks in part to a DVD called "The Secret", there has been a dramatic increase in the public awareness about such principles as Applied Faith, Inspired Action, Deliberate Creation and the Law of Attraction. In fact I have been a student of the law of attraction in the past. However during the past 9 months, I have come to higher level of awareness and understanding of many of these topics.
In particular, I would like to point out the distinction between the principle of "Deliberate Creation" and what is being taught today by modern day guru's as "the law of attraction." Some of the distinctions I am about to make may seem like "semantics" to some of you. I can assure you the distinctions I am about to point out are anything but semantics. Your understanding and application of the principle of deliberate creation can have a profound positive impact in your life as well as countless others. Belief in a so called law of attraction on the other hand can be very dis-empowering. Below you will find a short comparison of the principle of Deliberate Creation and the so called law of attraction.
First, let's start with a few definitions:
Deliberate Creation - "the act of creating done with full consciousness" or "the act of creating done with purpose."
Law of attraction - "you get what you think about" or "like attracts like."
You can already see from the definitions above, there is a significant distinction between Deliberate Creation and the Law of Attraction. First of all Deliberate Creation requires action... the Law of Attraction is passive. Deliberate Creation is born out of awareness and consciousness. The Law of Attraction is whimsical at best. Sadly, many business people who, for the most part are very astute, have taken to "thinking themselves" to success. I have heard complaints from sales managers in some very large organizations that their staff have ceased prospecting and cold calling in lieu of "manifesting" leads. While it is imperative that we be in the proper, positive mindset as we grow our businesses, it doesn't END there. We must TAKE ACTION.
Here's a more detailed comparison between an action oriented principle like Deliberate Creation and the Law of Attraction made popular by "The Secret":
Deliberate Creation
* Based on certainty * Encourages inspired action * Evolved from a true law of the universe... James Maxwell's Law of Electromagnetism ( a moving electric charge creates magnetism ) * Based on empowerment ( you are at a minimum the co-creator of your life's experiences ) * Based in Consciousness ( you make clear deliberate choices and demonstrate your faith with actions ) * Requires personal integrity ( being honest with oneself ) and the courage to be fully empowered * Assigns no blame, just a clear directive on how to realize your full potential
Law of Attraction
* Based on wishing and hoping * Passive * Made up law with no basis in science or evidence to support its claims * Based on victimization (a magic genie in a bottle will deliver what you wish for) * Based in mythology: Aladdin's lamp, bike's magically appearing on your front Porch, planes flying over your house and dropping bags of Money in your front yard, etc. * Allows you to fool yourself into believing "everything is okay" * Encourages personal dishonesty and inaction. * Implies "if it isn't working for you" its your fault
If you truly desire to "create the life of your dreams", rather than leaving it to chance, learn to employ the principles of deliberate creation. It is the surest path to the realization of all of your goals. Become empowered to make clear and conscious choices about your life... coupled with inspired action.

California Franchise Laws and the Importance of Having Franchise Insurance

When franchising was first introduced in America, it was decried by many as a scam. Today, franchises in America employee over 8 million people and account for about $1 trillion in annual income. However, not all things are rosy in the franchising business. A major issue that arises is the liability that comes with owning a business.
When franchising was first introduced in America, it was decried by many as a scam. Why would anyone pay a monthly franchise fee and agree to purchase supplies from the franchisor without the ability to shop around for better pricing? Why not just open up your own shop where you have the freedom to run your business as you please?
Fortunately for franchise owners everywhere the FTC, rather than making franchising illegal, simply setup important franchising laws to regulate it. In addition to these federal laws, franchise laws (and franchise insurance types and rates) vary state to state. Today, a new business startup with one of the highest rates of success is the purchase of a fast-food restaurant franchise.
Today, franchises in America employee over 8 million people and account for about $1 trillion in annual income.
However, not all things are rosy in the franchising business. For example, some franchisors have a habit of heavily weighing franchise agreements in their favor, often making it very difficult for the franchisee to become successful. Another major issue that arises is the liability that comes with owning a business.
In and Outs of Franchise Insurance
Once you purchase a franchise, you become a business owner. You are now responsible for the well being of your customers who visit your business. Whether it's a laundromat, dry cleaners, or fast food restaurant, insurance to cover you against any mishaps is an important part of protecting yourself as well as your investment in your new business.
A trendy California beauty salon should consider insurance to prevent against upset customers who may decide to sue for what they consider to be bad work on their hair. History is full of consumers suing beauty salons for "ruining" the hair of a model or causing rashes to break out on the skin of a struggling actress.
And you undoubtedly remember the story of the judge that attempted to sue a dry cleaner for millions of dollars after accusing the business of losing a pair of his pants. Florida's dry cleaners insurance undoubtedly went up after that, while California's insurance industry was sure to have been watching very closely.
Like Florida, California's coast is home to many wealthy people, which has attracted "extreme" service businesses that cater to the healthy lifestyle and service expectations of those who can afford it. Along with it are customers that displease much easier and have both the money and the power to file what might normally be considered a frivolous lawsuit.
In addition, being home to many struggling actors and models waiting for their big break, California business insurance rates are going to cost a bit more due to the higher risk that a business will be sued.
If you are considering purchasing a California franchise, insurance for that business is going to vary widely based on both the coverage and level of service. When it comes to California, insurance for a franchise business is not something you want to skimp on. Play it safe by going with a well established insurance company and getting an appropriate level of coverage.

The 500-lb. Lawyer Who Was Buried in a Piano Crate

Submitted by Jerome
A true story of an over-sized attorney who was buried in an over-sized casket, and what anyone who is overweight can learn from his tragic death.
I ran into a buddy recently who reminded me of the lawyer I helped bury a couple of years ago. My buddy is just like that lawyer, forever fat. He is into what I call "wait loss," waiting to lose weight. It will never happen. He knows my business and he mentioned that he needs to get on my program. But he has not, and is still waiting around to finally lose weight. He has been that way for years.
One of my fat loss tactics for people like him is called Create Your Own Click. Otherwise you can be waiting forever for something to click to make you finally lose the weight you need to lose. Creating your own click is a proactive approach and easy to do. You create your own click instead of waiting for it to magically appear. You make it happen. Anyone can do this immediately.
Here is a powerful way to create your own click. Set aside 10 minutes of absolute quiet time, when you are alone and will not be disturbed. Unplug the phone or turn it off. You are doing all this for the single purpose of creating your own click to lose weight.
You are doing it because you know you can and have decided that you are not going to wait for something to click. Get the mindset of you are going to proactively create your own click. That is your intention and you cannot fail. It is, in fact, easy. Get in a comfortable chair or whatever position you find relaxing, be it sitting, lying down, in a recliner chair. Relax. Breathe deeply, let yourself settle down.
When you are fully relaxed, affirm to yourself or out loud these words, or words you choose: "I have had it with being fat. I am done. I am putting being fat behind me forever. I am creating my own click right now, instead of waiting for it to happen sometime in the vague future. I am taking control right now. From this day forward I am going to focus on losing fat and getting fit, one day at a time. I am creating that click right now. And I will succeed. I have succeeded. I have just succeeded in creating my own click, instead of waiting for it to happen. And I will be just as successful on my fat loss program. It is as good as done."
Snap your fingers each time you say the word click if you like; the more emotion you put into affirming your intention, the better. And you have indeed just created your own click.
Or you can choose to continue practicing wait loss, and maybe end up like Ed (not his real name), the 500-pound lawyer who is no longer with us. He suffered a massive coronary infarction, a heart attack, and died in his early 30s.
His early death was a tragedy. He was a smart guy and could have put all his intellectual powers to work and lost all the weight he needed to lose. Anyone can. But he did not, and now it is too late for Ed. He paid the ultimate price for practicing wait loss.
As sad as his death was, another friend of mine who never lets anything get in his way of seeing the humor in things, said before the funeral, "My God, they are going to need a piano crate to bury Ed in."
And indeed the casket that held Ed was a biggie, which are being made more commonly these days, along with oversize furniture, hospital beds, clothes, etc. I will never forget the cemetery scene, where we pallbearers actually had to walk uphill hefting Ed in that piano crate-sized casket. I thought we were going to have heart attacks.
If you are like most people, you probably think that something like the heart attack Ed suffered cannot happen to you. Maybe, maybe not. A heart attack is just one of many risks of overweight. Recent findings show overweight is connected to many more forms of cancer than previously known. Along with stroke, diabetes and all the other unsavory scenarios being overweight invites into your life.
So I urge you to get out of your "wait loss" mode and into creating your own click right now to lose weight, healthfully and permanently. Turn your wait loss into real weight loss. You can do it.
